Dr. Zhang Jian received the B.S. degree in Applied Mathematics and the Ph.D. degree in Transportation Engineering from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2006 and 2011, respectively. From 2009 to 2010, he was a visiting scholar in the University of Wisconsin at Madison, supported by the China Scholarship Council. He is currently a Professor and vice dean with the School of Engineering, Tibet University, and the Vice Director of the Research Center for Internet of Mobility, as well as the Research Center for National Transport Strong Strategy, Southeast University.

His research interests include: Intelligent Transportation Systems, Intelligent logistics, connected and automated transportation, vehicle scheduling and machine learning, automated distribution system.

Professor Zhang hosted and participated in 10 national projects, such as the NSFC, National 973 program, National 863 plan and so on. He also hosted and participated in more than 20 provincial and ministerial projects, such as the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, R & D projects of Jiangsu Province, and so on. He has authored or co-authored over 80 articles in journals and over 90 articles in conferences, and more than 100 papers have been indexed by SCI or EI. Professor Zhang have published 10 books and 2 national science and technology reports, and he got over 30 patents and software copyrights.

He works as the Deputy secretary general and standing committee member of Working Committee on Automated Driving of China Highway & Transportation Society; Deputy secretary general and standing committee member of Standardization Working Committee on Automated Driving of China Highway & Transportation Society, and he works as the committee member of ASCE, CAAI, CCF, CICC, IEEE, SAE International, and WTC. Professor Zhang is the editor member or young academic member of some famous journals such as Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering (English Edition).
